I had heard many good things about this place but have not had a chance to go check it out. So when a handsome gentleman asked me on a date and asked if I would like to go to The Clam for dinner I jumped at the chance. First off the restaurant is beautiful and romantic without being pretentious. There is a shimmery mother of pearl looking ceiling white table cloths and dark beautiful hardwood floors. With flowers and candles sprinkled throughout the room. Perfect date night spot, or even first date spot. Then the food comes and I want to die! Everything from the mixed spring vegetables dressed with anchovy butter to the succulent white spicy clam pizza (Which I didn't think I was going to like, but I loved it!) to the perfectly done salmon. I could not have asked for more flavor. I didn't asked for salt or pepper or any other condiments for my meal. None were needed. If your a seafood lover, or even if your not (They have a good some good non seafood items on the menu) go check this place out. It is my new fav spot in west village for sure; maybe even all of downtown. But make sure to make a reservation because it is tiny!
